Not only foreigners but also Japanese people like to visit Kyoto, one of the old towns in Japan.

In the summer, you might avoid visiting Kyoto since it is one of the most hottest places in Japan. During the spring time, it is nice to walk around in Kyoto. Here is the model plan you may enjoy.

1 day trip to visit temples and shrines in Kyoto

Kansai International Airport to Kyoto
It takes about 1 hour and 40 mins by trains (You may use the bullet train, Nozomi, rather than express train for you to reduce the traveling time).

In Kyoto, there is one day trip pass for the bus. It only costs you 500 yen. It is recommended for tourists to use buses because Kyoto is sloping-road town.

Toji temple

one of the World Heritage sites, has built 1200 years ago in Heian era.
West Hongwanji temple
Some national heirlooms, such as drawing of Shinran shonin and Ichimonji chawan, pottery etc. in addition to the gardens and its temple itself.

Nijojo castle

This is also one of the World heritage sites.

Ninna-ji temple

This is also one of the World heritage sites.

Kinkaku-ji temple

It is actually called Rokuonji temple. Kinkakuji temple is the most famous temple in Rokuonji temple.

Kiyomizudera temple

It is registered on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List in 1994.

Shimogamojinja shrine

This is also one of the World heritage sites.
