Hirosaki jo is a castle in Hirosaki city, Aomori prefecture. It is also called as “Takaoka jo”. It was built in 1611 by Nobuhira Tsugaru who ruled over Hirosaki domain, Mutsu province in Edo era. There are five entrances which are registered as important cultural properties. There are also a museum, botanical gardens, and so on. It is now in Hirosaki Park so you can have a picnic there. It’s a good tourist place and beautiful view in spring, cherry blossom season.
