[Yamanashi] “Oshino-Hakkai”, the eight huge springs in the foothills of Mt.Fuji2013.06.16

“Oshino-Hakkai” are eight huge springs in the foothills of Mt.Fuji.

This area consists of eight springs called “Okama-Ike”, “Deguchi-Ike”, “Shobu-Ike”,”Sokonuke-Ike”,”Choshi-Ike”,”Waku-Ike”, “Nigori-Ike”, and “Kagami-Ike”.These springs are originated in melt water of Mt. Fuji.  This Japanese natural spot was designated as natural monument in 1934.
It is said that the origin of “Oshino-Hakkai” was the crater which made of the eruption of Mount Fuji 1,200 years ago.You can see the beautiful figure of “Mount Fuji ” from “Oshino-Hakkai”, and you can also enjoy the walking courses, walking through these eight springs .But, the destruction of nature is progressing there these days. Because, this area have been changed to a sightseeing spot rapidly.
