[Osaka]“Osaka-Jo”, the symbol of Osaka city2013.05.06

This castle was built by supreme samurai ruler “Toyotomi Hideyoshi” in 1583.

“Hideyoshi” had been lived in “Osaka-Jo”,  which was the symbol of “Azuchi Momoyama” era; the age  Hideyoshi ruled. After the death of “Hideyoshi”, his son “Toyotomi Hideyori” continued to live in this Japanese architecture. In 1614, next supreme ruler “Tokugawa Ieyasu” and his large army enveloped “Osaka-Jou” in order to finish old “Toyotomi” age. And then, “Toyotomi family” was collapsed and “Tokugawa family” started to rule Japanese government. This castle was rebuilt on several decades ago, and became a famous sightseeing spot of Osaka city.
