This Japanese architecture is an exceptional case. “Heian Jingu” was built in 1895.
The history of this shrine is very short compared with other historical architecture in Kyoto. As the celebration of 1100 passage after relocation to Kyoto, the part of an old architecture was restored. It was a residence and governance of Japanese emperor. A point worthy of note is a gigantic archway to shrine, which is designated as cultural properties.
Large Park, museum, library and zoo was adjacent to this shrine. You can enjoy cultural facilities when you visit “Heian-jingu”
