“Byodo-in Houou-do”, the historic monument of Kyoto2013.03.19

“Byodo-in” is a Japanese temple located in Uji, Kyoto prefecture. ?Uji is famous for Japanese tea.

This temple is?one of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto, and?designated as a World Heritage site. “Houou-do” is a part of this temple , which was built in 1053 and also designated as a national treasure of Japan. Japanese 10 yen coin displays the image of “Houou-do”.?“Houou”?means ?phenix , and??this temple symbolizes phoenix.
